Hitlist is empty! Let’s put some milestones up there!

Biz Dev went to get coffee - fill-in reports two models explored, both broad and vertical. The numbers on the broad play won out. Wow, knowledge-based decision-making at its best!

Design - getting navigation worked out - may have a template complete within the half-hour

Dev - at 7pm, did a post-mortem of previous 8 hrs while having dinner. Found out who knows what (maybe wish we already have the product in play!) . Starting to hear more about functional specs so can figure out how to move forward.

Marketing - competitive analysis done, still working on financial models. Putting finishing touches on the pitch.  Also have a press release completed and ready to send out to major local media outlets tonight with the hope to get someone out tomorrow for coverage.

Functional map for entire website created. I don’t understand it yet, but it looks pretty. There are also placeholder pages… in place.

Matt is describing to us what that map looks like, and how the website is currently designed to work.

Any falling behind that’s happening right now seems to be primarily on my part for not keeping up with the blogging. More than an hour ago, a Dev guy was explaining to me that they felt they had the data model all worked out and were well on their way to making the payment system usable too.

About then, I got pulled into a PR conversation and when my advice based on all the years I spent in broadcast journalism started making people’s eyes glaze over, we all realized maybe it would be helpful to have me actually doing some of the things needed for that piece of the startup puzzle. Okay… I’m cool with that.

One way or another I’ll get to both the blogging and the PR work I’m diving into. The rest of the room continues to hum.

Dev decided earlier today to focus on Django with MySQL and Javascript.

They’ve broken up into smaller groups dedicated to working on the following areas:

• Search
• Wireframes / front end look and feel
• Profile page
• Polling page
• DBA / SchIema

I’m off now to get a better description of the product these guys are starting to build. It may seem right now like the news is coming in backwards - trust me, when you’re reading it all after the fact, it’ll help!
